Parentalapp-Privacy

This privacy policy applies to the Parentalapp app for iOS, operated by Faruq Batula (“the Service Provider”). It describes what information the Application handles and what it deliberately does not.

Effective date: 2026-07-09

The short version

Information the Application handles

Information you provide (parent device):

This information is stored on your own device and, for syncing between your device and your child’s device, in Apple iCloud (CloudKit) associated with your Apple account. Rule data synced through iCloud is keyed by a randomly generated pairing token and contains rule configurations only — never app names, usage data, messages, browsing history, or location.

Information we do NOT collect:

Children’s privacy

Parentalapp is a parental-controls product. The parent-facing app is intended for use by adults (parents and legal guardians). A companion component runs on the child’s device solely to enforce the rules the parent sets.

The child-device component does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information from children. Enforcement happens locally on the device through Apple’s Screen Time framework. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). Setup on a child’s device requires parent or guardian authorization through Apple’s Family Sharing.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to the Service Provider (for example, by emailing support), contact parentalapp@outlook.com and it will be deleted.

How information is shared

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising. Information is disclosed only:

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data held by the Service Provider by contacting parentalapp@outlook.com. Because the Application is designed to hold almost nothing about you, most data can be removed directly by you (see Data Deletion below).

UK & EU users (UK GDPR / GDPR): you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to complain to your supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to opt out of sale or sharing (we do not sell or share personal information), and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.

Data retention and deletion

To request deletion of any personal data, contact parentalapp@outlook.com. Requests are processed within the timeframes required by applicable law.

Security

Rule data is stored using Apple’s platform protections on-device and transmitted via Apple’s iCloud infrastructure. Sync records are keyed by a high-entropy random token. The child-device component is hardened against tampering and removal without parental approval.

Data breach notification

In the unlikely event of a breach affecting your personal data, the Service Provider will notify affected users in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

International transfers

The Service Provider does not operate servers. Rule data is stored in Apple iCloud, which may process data in various countries under Apple’s safeguards (including Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable). No other international transfers of your personal data take place.

Changes to this policy

Material changes will be posted with a new effective date, and, where required by law, your consent will be sought. Previous versions are available on request.
